Post office returns

BUSINESS owners and residents are rejoicing at the announcement that a new post office will be established in Point Cook.
After an absence of four years, Australia Post has decided to return to the Sanctuary Lakes Shopping Centre later this year.
Leasing Manager at the shopping Centre, Matthew Rogan, told Star it had taken him 14 months of constant work to secure the new post office.
It is expected to bring 15,000 people a week into the shopping centre, giving business owners a lot of reasons to smile.
“We’ve been trying to get them back here for a long time,” Mr Rogan said.
“It’s essentially what’s going to make the Centre and put Sanctuary Lakes back on the map.”
Mr Rogan said shoppers had been consistently asking for a post office at the shopping centre since it moved to the Point Cook Town Centre in 2009.
“It’s definitely going to bring a lot more people through the door,” he said.
“There’s a retirement village down the road and 700 car parks on our door step. It’s more convenient for everyone really.”
The post office is expected to open towards the end of this year and will be completely indoors.
