JETTS Fitness in Point Cook has rallied together with the community to help raise $34,000 for the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
The 18 Jetts Fitness clubs across Victoria joined forces with their respective local communities and members to help raise the funds.
The clubs organised local fitness activities in support of Tour de Crawf’s 3600km ride across Australia.
And for every new membership sold during Shane Crawford’s 22-day, 3600km ride across Australia, the clubs donated $10 to BCNA.
Point Cook Club Manager, Justin Chappell said there was massive support from the local community and members.
“It was a massive event, we raised a lot of money, it was a good event for anyone to get behind and most people were happy too,” Mr Chappell said.
“Of the total contribution, $14,000 alone came from member donations and club activities which were open to the public,” he said.
Fundraising events included DJ nights, raffles and their own version of Shane’s “Tour de Crawf”.
Local football team the Sanctuary Lakes Sharks spent a few hours on the bikes at the gym, raising money with every kilometre they rode.
“It’s a fantastic cause and our fitness enthusiasts were only too happy to support it,” Mr Chappell said.
“We are a club that likes to get involved with the local community, like sponsoring local sports clubs and raising money for charities and fundraising, we’re not just a gym we want to give back to community,” he said.
