A LIFELONG obsession with a single piece of theatre is finally about to turn full circle for one excited Wyndham actor.
Deathtrap was the first play that Ron Fenton from the Wyndham Theatre Company ever saw back in 1979.
He was intrigued by the plot and dreamed of one day doing something similar.
Sixteen years later in 1995 he got his first job performing on stage when he was given the part of Clifford in Deathtrap.
Mr Fenton thought that he had reached the pinnacle of his experience with Deathtrap until he found out he would be directing his first play this year.
When the Wyndham Theatre Company gave him the chance to direct for the first time there was only one play he wanted to create for the audience.
Mr Fenton said Deathtrap, a murder mystery comedy production, started his love with the world of theatre.
“I loved the intricacy of the plot and all the surprises along the way,” Mr Fenton said.
“It changes every scene and makes you change where you think the plot is going.
“It’s very humorous as well. It’s a very complex, twisted play.”
Deathtrap was the longest running thriller comedy to ever be performed on Broadway and was turned into a film starring Christopher Reeve and Michael Caine.
It will be performed at the Crossroads Theatre on the corner of Duncans Rd and Synnott St in Werribee on 19, 25 and 26 October and 1 and 2 November.
