CHILDREN’S Week 2013 is in full swing this week with a whole bunch of activities planned.
Wyndham’s popular feature event, the Children’s Week Picnic, will be held this Sunday 27 October from 10am to 4pm at Werribee Park.
The free family event is expected to be bigger than ever this year with the Despicable Me Minions also attending.
The minions will perform two shows and have a meet and greet with the children.
Wyndham City Councillor Glenn Goodfellow said it was a great opportunity for children to play the day away and invited all families to attend.
“Families are encouraged to bring a picnic basket and a rug to enjoy the parks beautiful surroundings,” Cr Goodfellow said.
The day’s festivities will also include a live band, the Street Surfer Bus, circus workshops, ten pin bowling alley, rock climbing wall, ball games, dancing and much more.
Children will also have the opportunity to recycle their old toys on the day and replace them with different ones.
They can visit the sustainability marquee from 10am to 12pm with up to 3 toys, drop them off and receive a token for each to return at an allocated time and choose replacement toys to take home.
