POLICE are searching for a man that indecently assaulted a woman while travelling on a Werribee train between Aircraft and Footscray Railway Stations on 25 June this year.
A spokesperson from the Victoria Police Crime Stoppers Unit said the man got on the train at Laverton Railway Station and stood next to the woman just after 8.30am.
“It is alleged the man immediately positioned himself near the woman and tried to put his leg between her legs before rubbing his groin on her,” the spokesperson said.
“After a number of attempts the woman was able to get out of her seat but the man followed her and continued to rub his groin on her back.”
Police have released images of a man whom they believe may be able to assist them in their enquiries.
He is described as Mediterranean in appearance, aged in his 50s, with a grey beard, and was wearing a brown suede jacket with fur lining, a cream coloured shirt, charcoal coloured pants, a brown beanie and had a white, pink and blue knitted scarf.
