SHE might only be 11-years-old but Jasmyn Brunato has already shown that she has some serious skills.
The Wyndham youngster was given her first camera earlier this year after she fell in love with taking photos as part of a school project.
Since then she has taken thousands of photos and uploads them on to social networking sites like instagram every day.
She is rarely seen without her camera and her love of all things photography is now winning her awards.
Last month Jasmyn was announced as a winner of the 2013 Young Australian Art Awards for a photo of hers that was submitted by her teacher at Bethany Catholic Primary School.
Her winning photo was of her four-year-old brother Nate as he waded in the water underneath the Altona Pier while the sun was setting.
It captured his silhouette, the sun and the ripples in the water.
Perhaps more amazing is the fact that she was able to capture her energetic brother in a seemingly calm moment.
Jasmyn said while she liked the photo she had taken, she did not think she would win the Australia-wide competition.
“I thought it would make a good photo so I just took it,” Jasmyn said.
“I wasn’t sure if I could win because there were a lot of entries out of Australia.”
Jasmyn said she now has dreams of becoming a professional photographer one day and she would love to take pictures of nature.
“I like picking the best photos and editing them and I like showing everyone what I’ve taken,” she said.
“Every time we go somewhere I always bring my camera with me.”
