A POINT Cook budding photographer will have one of his images shown in thousands of houses throughout Melbourne.
Terence McGlone was one of three photographers chosen to have his work featured on the cover of the South Western Yellow Pages book as part of their Capture the Cover competition.
The photo, which was taken in Werribee South, captured the silhouette of a flock of birds against an orange sunset.
Mr McGlone said he was honoured to have his photo chosen to represent his community and he could not wait until the book landed on his doorstep.
“The colour when the sun drops over the bank is spectacular. I find the area peaceful and relaxing and wanted to capture my perfect summer night,” Mr McGlone said.
Capture the Cover judge, professional photographer Mark Lobo, said Mr McGlone’s image summed up the region perfectly.
“The Only Locals Know theme was all about finding those things that make our communities unique. The things that remind you why you love where you live and what makes it special,” Mr Lobo said.
“There were so many incredible submissions in the area, but Terence’s stood out – he was able to capture the serenity of the region.”
Mr McGlone’s photo will feature on the cover of the new book, which started being distributed on 8 March, and it will sit alongside seven other photos taken by local residents.
