Thousands flock to airshow

THOUSANDS of aircraft enthusiasts descended upon Point Cook last week as the Point Cook RAAF Museum Air Pageant came to town. The pageant celebrated the Air Force heritage through “flying and static displays of past and present aircraft”. More than 20,000 people were expected to be mesmerised by the amazing aerial activities overhead. The Point Cook RAAF holds a special place in Australia’s aviation history as it is the birthplace of the Australian Flying Corps and the Royal Australian Air Force. Because of this, enthusiasts frequently flock to Point Cook to take a rare glimpse of one of Australia’s most important aviation stories, that of the second oldest air force in the world. 77697 Pictures: KRISTIAN SCOTTTHOUSANDS of aircraft enthusiasts descended upon Point Cook last week as the Point Cook RAAF Museum Air Pageant came to town.
