Woman bashed in house raid

POLICE are hunting for three men that attacked a woman in her Wyndham Vale home before stealing her care last week.
Creina O’Grady from Victoria Police said that investigators had been told that the victim of an aggravated burglary, a 31-year-old woman, was in her home in Feathertop Drive with two other women last Tuesday night when she was attacked.
The woman told police that three men, one armed with a firearm, forced their way into her home.
After starting a conversation with the woman the three men then allegedly attacked her.
The woman was struck several times in the head and upper body before the men made a getaway in the victim’s car.
A 1999 maroon Holden Commodore was taken from the driveway.
A neighbor of the victim told Star he could clearly hear everything that was happening during the attack.
“It’s terrifying to think that at any time someone could burst into your house and take whatever they want,” the neighbor said.
“I was just waiting to hear a gunshot because it sounded like it was going to go in that direction if she didn’t give them what they wanted.
“As soon as the street lights come on I’ll be barricading my door from now on. It’s a shame because you shouldn’t have to live like that.”
The car was later spotted parked the wrong way about two kilometres away from the victim’s house on the corner of Black Forest Rd and Haines Drive in Wyndham Vale.
The victim received serious injuries during the brazen attack and was taken to the Sunshine Hospital.
The three burglars were wearing hoodies and balaclavas.
