DANCERS from Wauchope and Port Macquarie Performing Arts have been wowed by the bright lights of the United States.
A group of 54 members of the popular dance school returned last week after performing on a number of California’s most famous stages.
The adventure started at Disneyland, where after a character breakfast with Goofy and all of his friends, students participated in a Disney masterclass with Los Angeles dance instructor Tricia Gomez.
This was followed by a performance of their show Dance through the Decades, choreographed by studio principal Stacey Morgan on the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree Stage.
The students performed over the following six days at the Hollywood Backlot stage at Disney’s California Adventure, The Blues Brothers stage at Universal Studios and in front of Madame Tussauds on Hollywood Boulevard – next to the Dolby Theatre where the Oscars are held. Throughout the trip students had the opportunity to train with LA’s best dance teachers, even dancing at famous dance studio The Edge under the instruction of Niko O’Connor and Steve Ewing.
“The trip was an awesome chance for us to show the world the tremendous dance talent that comes from the Mid North Coast,” Ms Morgan said.
“The experience was open to all Wauchope and Port Macquarie Performing Arts dancers and was without a doubt a once in a lifetime opportunity.
“We cant wait until we have the chance to go back and do it all again.”
