Like a bolt from the blue

PORT Macquarie trainer Neil Godbolt made the most of the heavy conditions at Coffs Harbour on Sunday, returning with a winner and two seconds.
Godbolt even managed to quinella a race, with Dinky Mink and La Hdood running one-two in the $15,000 Daniel Baker Prelude Handicap (1216m).
Although the unfancied of Godbolt’s pair at $10, Dinky Mink grew a leg on the heavy 10 surface to win by half a length from his more fancied stablemate ($5).
On a track suited by runners near the grandstand rail, Marlon Dolendo gave Dinky Mink the perfect ride to score in the last race on the day.
Earlier, Godbolt saddled up Retirement ($4) in the Class 3 Handicap (1316m), but the talented gelding could only run second to $3.20 favourite Sir Lotte, who won by almost four lengths.
It was a good day for the region, with Wauchope trainer Colt Prosser also returning home a winner.
His four-year-old mare Note To Bee bounced back from a disappointing performance in Grafton to win the speedy Benchmark 65 Handicap (811m) by a long neck.
Suited by her outside barrier, Note To Bee was able to get to the outside fence first and jockey Peter Graham punched her out strongly.
In an even field, Note To Bee started at $6.
Racing in the region moves to Taree tomorrow and back to Coffs Harbour next Wednesday and Thursday for the two-day cup carnival.
