Kids safe on the net

FOUR students from Port Macquarie High School have been recognised for their valuable contributions to cybersafety issues affecting children and teenagers like themselves.

The students were presented with their certificates by deputy principal Darryl Mason at last week’s assembly.
Judi Dawton, the director of the cybersafety programs section of the Federal Government’s Department of Communications acknowledged the students’ support and involvement in the program in a letter to the principal.
Ms Dawton also invited teachers and interested parents to get involved in the teachers and parents’ advisory group on cybersafety, which she is establishing to help develop cybersafety policy.
