Best foot forward for fund-raiser

A DOLLAR might not buy you much these days, but it can go a long way in the Hastings.

Over the next three months, you can buy a new pair of socks for $1 and support the needy at the same time.
Lifeline Mid Coast is supporting this year’s Hastings Community Connect Day by administering a program from August through to October, where shoppers in the Port Macquarie and Wauchope Lifeline Shops will be given the opportunity to help people going through tough times.
All you have to do is buy a pair of socks for $1 and that money will be donated to the Community Connect Day.
Hastings Community Connect Day will be held on Wednesday 30 October and is an interactive and informative day for homeless people and those in need in the area.
On the day, free haircuts, food and clothing, health services, entertainment, options and services are made available to people in need.
Up to 105,000 people are homeless around Australia every night, including members of our own community and whatever their reasons no-one deserves to suffer through poverty or be without a roof over their head.
Make a positive contribution by donating to the Hastings Community Connect Day in a Lifeline Shop in either Port Macquarie or Wauchope.
