Sandow seeks help

CHRIS SANDOW

PARRAMATTA Eels halfback Chris Sandow will spend the next two weeks in the Hastings in a bid to get his life back on track.
It was reported yesterday that Sandow would spend time at an indigenous healing farm near Port Macquarie to overcome personal issues.
The Daily Telegraph said Sandow would be mentored by former Newcastle indigenous star Owen Craigie.
It’s been reported the out-of-form halfback is earning $550,000 per season, but owes money due to a gambling problem.
“This is something we want to do for him because he is a lovely man,” Eels chairman Steve Sharp said.
“But he has some serious issues with gambling. He has a sizeable contract but hasn’t got two sticks to rub together. In fact, he owes money.
“I want to help him because Chris has a wife and young family.
“He needs to just get away from the environment he’s in.”
