Plans to turn around flailing mobile phone reception is set to ensure a good turnout at the Lake Cathie Progress Association’s Annual General Meeting on Sunday.
A guest speaker from Optus will provide details on solutions for the problem, possible locations for a new tower, timing and plans for further community consultation, for the 70 per cent of Lake Cathie residents who have a poor to zero mobile and wireless internet signal, Association secretary jack Jones said.
Other agenda items include:
-   Election of the Executive Committee for 2011
–    A motion to adopt the Lake Cathie Village Master Plan 2010: Copies of the Plan will be available at the meeting in printed form or on CD. The Plan is also on the Association’s website www.lakecathiepa.com and go to Village Master Plan
-   Proposed Council rate rises: The meeting will form a submission from the community to Council on the proposed rate increases.
-   Committee reports on: Lake Cathie’s sloping footpath, Coastal Study and Plan, Hydrodynamic Modelling & Depth Survey of the estuary, stormwater outlets along beach rectification, need for additional sporting fields, Fiona Crescent drainage and Clean up Australia Day.
The meeting will also take questions and recommendations from the floor.
The meeting commences at 10.30am on Sunday, February 13 at the Lake Cathie Community Hall.
