Flashing lights on agenda for Nationals

School zone flashing lights at Hastings Public School will be on a shortlist under a NSW Liberals & Nationals Government.

Leader of the Nationals Andrew Stoner and the Nationals candidate for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams made the announcement in Port Macquarie recently.

This comes on top of the NSW Liberals & Nationals schools and education package which includes:

• A $60 million injection to fund critical school maintenance and repairs;

• Giving decision-making power back to school communities; and

• An additional 900 new teachers, including as many as 77 on the North Coast.

Mrs Williams said parents expect public schools in Port Macquarie to be up there with the best in the nation, and that includes offering learning environments that are clean, safe and in good condition.

“That is why the NSW Liberals & Nationals are injecting more than $60 million into school maintenance funding,” she said.

“This means schools in the local area will be eligible for up to $200,000 in additional funding for school maintenance under a NSW Liberals & Nationals Government.”
