The timeless love tale of Romeo and Juliet will be reprised at the picturesque Cassegrain Wines estate as part of a special one-off local performance on Sunday, March 27.
Get into the spirit of the times with The Restaurant offering a special Medieval Feast and live music from Noon, before walking down to the stunning gardens for the show.
Head Chef Chris McLeod will be serving a buffet of classic medieval dishes with a modern twist including whole suckling pig on spit, guinea fowl and pottage.
As part of a national tour, working under Melbourne theatre director and vocal coach Anna McCrossin-Owens and artistic directors Amanda LaBonte and Sophie Lampel, the Essential Theatre company will bring the wonderful words of Shakespeare to Cassegrain Wines with a talented troupe of eight professional actors. Set to guarantee something different, the play will be presented within the modern classic style, offering audiences the opportunity to revel in this classic love story.
This is the third time Cassegrain Wines has presented Shakespeare in the Vines, with John Cassegrain delighted to once again be part of this spectacular event.
“Great theatre, combined with a beautiful setting and fine food and wine is the perfect match. We’re looking forward to what we’re sure will be another great afternoon of drama,” he said
