Radio 531 / FM 93.5 has proudly been part of the Mid-North Coast radio landscape for over 70 years and broadcasting on FM 93.5 Port Macquarie and 531 AM Kempsey covering the entire Mid-North Coast.
Listeners right across our local region rely on the station because they know they’ll hear all the latest international and national news, sport, Talk and entertainment all day, every day, a spokesperson said.
“If it’s happening on the Mid-North Coast or beyond, you’ll hear about it first on Radio 531/FM 93.5.
“After three long years away from his Golden Microphone, the King of the airwaves, John Laws is back, and gracing our morning program with his familiar ‘Hello world…I’m John Laws’.
“Weekday mornings starts off at 5am with our popular Grant Goldman, offering a talkback opportunity for the early risers, discussing various issues concerning politics, sports and general dialogue on local and international events.
“Midday sees a total change of pace with Port Macquarie’s own John O’Callaghan playing all the hits of the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s in a packed three hours.
“John also speaks with state and national political representatives with his own interview technique; the primary focus being on how these issues affect us right here on a local level.
“Every Friday between 1pm and 2.30pm, John hosts our locally produced sports program with identities Ken Gentles and Paul Walsh, debating and discussing all the sporting events in the region.
“Talkin’ Sport runs from 3pm til 7pm Monday to Friday where you can join Graeme Hughes, Gavin Robertson, Peter Tunks and Brett Papworth, all strong representatives in their own chosen sports.
“Get involved with the discussion, chat about the games from the weekend — even the armchair athletes and refs can have their say.”
