Year 7 student, Eve Thomas, at Port Macquarie High School, has come away with a gold medal for diving at the Combined High School (CHS) Competition held at the Aquatic Centre in Homebush on the weekend.
Eve competed in the 12 years 3m springboard section and won.
Eve is no stranger to winning medals in school and out of school competitions over the three and a half years she has been diving.
She trains at the Wauchope pool three times a week and every second Saturday with her coach Dave Mayo who also trains up to 15 others from around the district.
She is the first student to win a gold medal in diving in the long history of Port High.
She is now looking forward to her next challenge at the All Schools Carnival to be held in May.
