The world’s biggest model guide dog will be visiting Port Macquarie for the first time on Friday, May 13.
At 4.3 metres tall, Gulliver the Giant Guide Dog is touring northern NSW to emphasise the huge role Guide Dogs NSW/ACT plays in helping local people with no, low or impaired vision to safely, confidently and independently negotiate their environments.
By the time he reaches Port Macquarie, Gulliver would have travelled almost 5000km across eastern Australia over the past year helping Guide Dogs to raise awareness of its free mobility services.
“Like Gulliver on his travels, our instructors travel to wherever our free services are required,” said Jeremy Hill, Regional Manager for Guide Dogs across Northern NSW. The latest research shows more than a third of people with eye disorders live in the country.
Gulliver can be found at the Town Green between 9am and 12pm on Friday.
