I would like to voice my anger to the Port Macquarie Hastings Council, who have found it necessary to change 18 all-day car spaces on the top of Port Central Shopping Centre to three hours!
To rub salt into the wounds of the working public, who are all doing it tough enough at present, the council’s ranger proceeded to book the unwitting people for not recognising the change.
To make things even worse there were a number of shopping public and retirees who park in these all-day spaces which are clearly there for people who work within Port Centre and surrounding businesses.
Unfortunately, the council’s senior management have changed so often that there is nobody there that can remember that is was the small businesses in the CBD and surrounds, that paid for most of the street scapes and parking that Port CBD now enjoys.
As for the general public that still have a problem with businesses parking their vehicles in the CBD, it must be remembered that without them, there would be no CBD.
We employ your mums, dads, sons, daughters and grand kids.
When were the council’s media managers going to inform the workers and public of this change or were they just waiting to collect all the revenue?
Two of my staff members are now $89 poorer, parting with money they could ill afford to lose.
