Read the science

At the climate Commission forum last week, they said if you are over 40, you don’t need to worry. The effects will not come in mostly til the next generation.
Earlier generations have caused the problem but the future generations will cop the effects. They confirmed there is no debate about climate change in the scientific community who have moved on from this as a known but it continues in the shock jock media which feeds on controversy. Scientists have known for over a decade that the atmosphere has changed and greenhouse gasses have led to warmer temperatures. There was an interesting aside as to whether the growth of carbon use in developing nations such as China should be the first target when we individually account for five times the usage per person in Australia. There was also a comment that, as the media continues to fuel doubt on what is scientifically agreed, they are actually misleading the public and failing to fulfil their obligations of providing accurate information. If you want the scientific basis to understand the issues they suggest the Australian Academy of Science website http://www.science.org.au/reports/climatechange2010.pdf
