There was jiving down the platform at Sydney’s Central Station last week for the Wintersun Festival launch where hundreds of people were entertained by live rock-roll music, dancers and Elvis impersonator Johnny Devlin.
Over 30,000 people are expected to attend around 80 Wintersun Festival events in Port Macquarie from June 3-13, including live bands, entertainers, swing balls, dance competitions, vintage fashion parades and classic car displays.
Joining the party was Andrew Stoner, Deputy Premier, Minister for Trade and Investment, and Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Services, and event organisers.
To get there, Sydneysiders can take a journey into the past with CountryLink’s daily services between Sydney’s Central Station and the Festival, plus a special ‘Rock - Rail’ train departing on Friday, June 10 for the long weekend’s biggest Festival program.
On Monday, June 13, a tour bus will take rockers back to Sydney – a chance to sit back, relax and chat to other rock – roll fans and tell stories of the weekend gone by.
Gigs galore are set to rock Port during Wintersun, along with parades and fiestas.
More than 1500 pre 1974 Hot Rods, Custom and Classic Cars will also cruise into the region for the event.
