Police on the Mid-North Coast have renewed their appeal for information relating to an attack on an elderly man in his home
last year.
The 75-year-old man was found unconscious and suffering serious head, facial and stomach injuries in his home in Dangar Street, West Kempsey, about 6.30pm on Saturday,
November 20.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before he was taken to Kempsey Hospital for further treatment. He was later airlifted to John Hunter Hospital where he died six
days later.
A 28-year-old man was arrested and charged in relation to the incident; however, police are still seeking further information.
Detectives believe it could be related to a similar occurrence in Dondingalong, near Kempsey, a few days earlier.
In that incident, at about 11.30pm on November 18, 2010, three men broke into an elderly couple’s home on Gowings Hill Road and robbed them of an amount of money. The elderly man was assaulted during the incident.

A reward of up to $1000 is payable for information which leads to an arrest.
