No dramas, we’re ready

Rehearsals are in full swing for the Hastings Valley of Schools’ Drama Ensembles who are busy developing pieces for upcoming events.
Students have been working on scripts, creating characters and choreographing ensemble movement to produce high quality pieces of exciting performance.
Some of the events they will be involved with in the coming year include a performance in the Public Library to celebrate this year’s Book Week, the Department of Education’s Regional Education Week, the Glasshouse Theatre Bites Regional HSC showcase night and the Department of Education’s Regional Drama Festival.
Both drama teachers, Heather Rawson and Catherine Grootenboer, are pleased with the progress each group is making.
The HVCS Orchestra, under musical director Frank Rugers, has also been continuing with regular, well-spaced rehearsals at Hastings Public School.
Similarly, the large group from all six public schools that makes up the Valley Vox Choir is meeting before school for practice sessions at Westport Public School.
Education Week opens on Monday, August 1  at the Panthers Auditorium at 6pm and runs until Friday, August 5.
