NSW’s top dogs hear concerns face to face

The NSW Ministerial team and its head, Premier Barry O’Farrell, faced residents and their concerns at a community Cabinet meeting in Port Macquarie on Monday.
Mr O’Farrell and his team met with a range of community groups in the morning, before holding the Community Cabinet Public Forum at Port Panthers.
“I am pleased the Premier has accepted my invitation to bring the team to the Port Macquarie electorate for such an important event,” Local MP Leslie Williams said.
“To have the Premier and Ministers in the area so soon after the election is a sign of just how serious the Liberals & Nationals are about the Port Macquarie electorate.
“I am also very pleased with the response which has been shown by community groups in seeking meetings with Ministers,” Mrs Williams said.
“Some of the successful applications from groups include NewIDAFE, Kendall Future Directions, Harrington Action Group, Surfing NSW Mid-North Coast and Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, to name a few.
“Because of the high demand for meetings, unfortunately some groups have missed out, but I can assure those groups that I will be writing to the relevant Ministers to bring any outstanding issues to their attention.”
During the public forum, people were given the opportunity to raise questions and get a direct on-the-spot response.
