The Arts Council Committee looks forward to welcoming you for an entertaining and delightful winter concert in the lovely Kendall School of Arts Hall in Comboyne Street.
David Miller, Head of Ensemble Studies at the Sydney Conservatorium, will bring an ensemble of senior undergraduate students on their annual north coast tour in August.
This will be a most enjoyable and unusual concert, featuring the Catalyst Saxaphone Quartet.
Dylan Brown, Simon Watts, Bernard Lagana and Alex Lee founded Catalyst halfway through 2010 and they enjoy playing a wide variety of pieces ranging from the extreme classical standards to the funky bebop tunes.
The four sax players will be joined by Marleen Brockmans on cello and Suzanne Sherrington on flute; and David Miller will accompany on piano.
The program will range from JS Bach’s Flute Sonata in B Minor to Scott Joplin’s The Entertainer and Henry Mancini’s The Pink Panther.
The student concert will be held on Sunday,, August 14, commencing at 2.30pm (doors open 2pm).
Tickets will be on sale at the door from 2pm, and cost $20 for financial members, other adults $25, and children up to 17 years $10.
Afternoon tea will follow the concert, and members are asked to bring a plate to share. Enquiries to Alvena Ferguson on 6559 6874.
