Mitchell’s closer to goal with grant

12 year old St Paul’s high school student Mitchell Dickson is one step closer to his dream of becoming a future Sydney Swans player after receiving $500 from the McDonald’s Port Macquarie’s local Grants Program.
Mitchell is currently training with the AFL Sydney Swans Academy and his father Ian Dickson said he was honoured that McDonald’s selected his son as a recipient of the grant as it will help his son continue to work towards his goal.
“We love seeing Mitchell participate and excel in local sports, but it can become quite costly. The Grants Program allows us to continue supporting Mitchell and his involvement in sport and we would like to sincerely thank McDonald’s Port Macquarie for their assistance,” said Ian.
Budding sporting stars and young student achievers are encouraged to follow suit and take up the opportunity to receive a boost from the new Grants Program launched by local McDonald’s Port Macquarie Licensees, Jacqui and Brett Jones.
Aiming to recognise the importance of junior sport and education in the community, the program is designed to encourage and reward participation, performance and achievement, as well as assist with the increasing costs associated with competing in club sport or participating in extra-curricular activities.
The program is open to any young athlete or student who is passionate about their sport or field and can demonstrate how the grant would assist them in achieving their dreams.
To be eligible for the McDonald’s Port Macquarie Grants Program, local athletes and students must apply in writing and explain how they will put the grant to good use. All applications should be sent to McDonald’s Port Macquarie in Settlement City. One deserving recipient will be chosen to receive a grants boost each quarter.
