Port Macquarie High School held its annual ‘Crazy Day’ recently.
It was a day when students were looking after students’ interests when Port Macquarie High School’s Student Representative Council persuaded the student body, and some staff, to don their craziest outfits for a day of fun while at school and raise money at the same time.
The whole day has become very popular and more and more students are taking up the opportunity to dress up as all kinds of weird and wonderful characters.
Some came as recognisable and well known characters from movies, literature, and as celebrities (even cartoon characters), while others created their own, just to stand out. Some went to a lot of trouble to make their costumes and the results were spectacular in some cases.
The aim of the day was to raise money for the SRC, which in turn is returned to students to allow them to participate in school activities without the burden of a financial cost. It reflects the SRC’s motto: “Students supporting students”.
