Dancing to a green tune

Now that Australia has no option other than to face up to the prospect of a carbon tax, a tax that the Australian people don’t want, it is time to put a few sobering facts on the table. I quote Greens leader Senator Bob Brown: “The Greens and Christine Milne not least can take a great deal of credit. If we weren’t here we wouldn’t be a nation moving ahead”.
Make no mistake, Labor is dancing to the Greens’ tune, and how it must tear at the heart of every Labor member and senator who must sit in silence while they are battered in their electorate. A close study of the Clean Energy Bills reveals the penalties for not complying with rules and regulations could land you in jail for ten years. This is the big stick that will be enshrined in legislation, but I can assure you The Nationals in government will get rid of this toxic tax.
Thank you to everyone for returning the carbon tax survey form. I have tabled the results in the Senate but, since that time, hundreds more responses have been received. In Lyne 3833 households are against the carbon tax and 563 in favour. (Port Macquarie 1568 against and 226 for). It is a pity the Member for Lyne did not take notice of your views.
