“She’s wonderful, just so wonderful,” says Stanley Moore of his wife Joyce, as the pair celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary this week.
Yesterday the couple celebrated the milestone at home and tonight will dine out.
Stanley said he went to an Air Force dance where he first saw Joyce and returned home that night to scroll in his diary that he had met the woman he was going to marry.
And so, on October 19, some 65 years ago, he wed the woman he fell in love with.
The couple moved to Port Macquarie in 1999, Stanley said, and love the place and its people.
He said they celebrate life by staying in good health and Joyce is still actively line dancing with her Panthers pals.
A letter from the Queen and the Prime Minister, Stanley said, sealed the bond the pair share.
He said they had spent an exciting and rewarding life together as the parents of three fantastic boys and the grandparents to seven.
“Every day is a highlight with Joyce,” he said.
“I cherish every moment with her.”
