What chance has a lady or an elderly person against a mugger? Virtually none!
The mugger will probably be fuelled up on whatever chemical he chooses, making him utterly out of control anyway. Even an ordinary male of the same age would have difficulty in protecting himself against the kind of onslaught which would be unleashed by a thug whose only thought was to get enough money for his next fix.
In most countries, a citizen has the right to carry a means of self defence. One can have a can of pepper or capsicum spray, a shock stick capable of immobilising an attacker’s arm or leg without inflicting lethal injury, or even a small hand-gun. Many countries will allow the carrying of a hand-gun, believe it or not. At least in those countries it is not only the villains who can be armed!
Australia must wake up before the general public are overrun by these criminals.
