Originally planned for September 25, The Port Macquarie Heritage Car Club’s Motorfest was unceremoniously washed out. Undeterred, the club is planning a rerun for November, 27.
Motorfest is a static display that last year fielded over 150 cars and this year promises to be bigger and better.
Cars will be converging on Westport Park from as far afield as Coffs Harbour to the north and Forster to the south as well as all points in between, plus five local clubs. It is anticipated that cars will range from early 1900s to current, with the emphasis being on pre-1981. Cars will be displayed in categories according to decade of manufacture with additional categories for sports cars, commercial, hotrods, and so on.
This year is the first year to include a people’s choice award where the public will be encouraged to vote for their favourite vehicle and also be eligible for a very generous prize donated by Port Macquarie Cars.
Admission to view is free from 10am to 3pm and anyone with an ‘interesting’ car is invited to display from 8am at a cost of just $10, which will include morning tea, lunch and a show bag. For enquiries, call Don on 6585 5979.
