Artists living on the Mid North Coast between Coffs Harbour and the Great Lakes are invited to enter the Mid North Coast Open Art Prize.
This is the second time this award has been offered as part of the Hastings Valley Fine Art Association’s Summer Showcase, which will be held at The Laurieton United Services club from December 28 to January 5, 2012.
Club President Brian Barker said,“The Summer Showcase is our major annual exhibition, which is sponsored and judged.”
In past years entry was available to Association members only.
Last year it initiated a special “Open” section, and invited other Mid North Coast artists to enter.
“We see this as a way of encouraging and recognising artists in our region, and also as a step towards promoting better dialogue between local art organisations with similar interests and objectives. We are hoping to expand on the concept in future years,” he said.
The Prize for the Mid North Coast Open Section is $1000.
The exhibition will be judged by Jim Matsinos, well known and respected local artist and teacher.
Entries close on Dec 10.
Entry forms can be downloaded from the HVFAA website at
