In the final year of the NSW School Certificate, one Wauchope High School student gained maximum marks in Geography – a milestone for the school.
In the six School Certificate examinations Sarah Houseman sat for she received marks of 100, 99, 97, 96, 96 and 95 percent as well as obtaining straight As for all her subjects.
While Wauchope High School recognised the wonderful results that many of the students obtained, the school was particularly proud of the results obtained by the Year 10 Dux, Sarah.
Mr Henry, the principal of Wauchope High, said in his many years in the Department of Education Sarah is the first student in one of his school’s to receive 100 per cent in a School Certificate examination.
“I am delighted for Sarah for her success and I congratulate her and her teacher Mr Bourke,” Mr Henry said.
“To receive 100 per cent in a State wide examination is outstanding.
“Sarah is a very talented and dedicated student who thoroughly deserves these outstanding results.”
