Teens help fight poverty

Local teenagers Dominica Roebuck and Michael Wilkie are planning a journey to Cambodia to film a documentary for the Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF), which will be used for fundraising efforts.
For 6 years Cambodian Children’s Fund has provided life-changing education, nourishment and healing to vulnerable children from some of Cambodia’s most destitute communities.
Dominica Roebuck, a passionate young woman, has teamed up with Michael Wilkie, an up and coming film maker who earlier this year was awarded a full scholarship to the New York Film Academy, to produce a documentary showing the conditions in which Cambodian children are forced to endure daily.
The film will also earmark Dominica’s personal growth as she travels to areas of Cambodia in which she worked tediously to raise money for.
As Michael wants to film and Dominica wants to help out at CCF, it is not being organised as a holiday in Cambodia: the main focus is to help out at CCF, and, with the documentary, show everyone else what life is like for these kids.
The documentary, which is being endorsed by CCF, is being planned to be filmed between February 11-19.
The duo from MacKillop Senior College are desperately seeking donations in order to be able to get there – businesses can sponsor the documentary and their logos be featured in all promotional material and within the documentary itself.
