Following the success of last year’s initiative, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has been teaming again with Hastings Liquor Accord and Roads and Maritime Services to provide late-night transportation from Port Macquarie to surrounding districts including Wauchope and Camden Haven over the summer holiday period.
The service will continue to run until January 15 with fares to locations within Port Macquarie $5 and Wauchope and Camden Haven districts $10.
Security guards will be present on all buses.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Road Safety Officer Nick Gainsford said the service was gaining popularity, with the affordable fare cost and a regular departure schedule encouraging party-goers to catch the bus home.
“This service will reduce the pressure on taxi drivers late at night and will positively impact anti-social behavior,” Mr Gainsford said.
