Last week was a double or nothing affair for some families in the region.
The inaugural twins day out club was launched and an organiser Grace Duggan could not have asked for a more busy, fun and exciting turnout.
“It was so much fun but chaotic,” she said.
“So many kiddies in a small play area crawling and climbing all over each other.
“We had pregnant mums, fraternal twin mums, identical twin mums and our triplet mum plus a few dads, siblings and proud grandparents.
“It was our first official get together and we formed a large group of about 40 people.
“We are organising to get together regularly once a month and at different locations around the Hastings.
“There is a facebook page called multi birth mums – Hastings and Macleay, where we socialise, share advice and will organise group meetings/coffees.
The lovely grace is a mother of 3 girls:“My eldest Ceara is 3 and my twin girls Scarlett and Rose are 8 months.
“It is easy to feel isolated when you are a stay at home mum and lots of multiple births can start with health complications making it hard to get out of the house during those first early months,” Grace said.
“My girls’ first six months felt like endless medical appointments and a very strict three hour routine which was not to be broken.
“Support is so important, and today we shared experiences, advice and tips about feeding, prams, routines and how to cope with all the extra attention!”
The next twins’ catch up will be on Sunday, February 26 at 11am at the Sancrox Reserve for a family picnic/barbecue – BYO.
