Police charged a man over a house fire at Port Macquarie last Monday night.
About 10.45pm police and Fire and Rescue NSW responded to a fire at a house on Grant Street.
The fire was extinguished and police established a crime scene which was examined by forensic specialists.
About 11pm police arrested a 30-year-old man near the house and took him to Port Macquarie Police Station.
The man was subsequently charged with damage property by fire (damage in excess of $15, 000) and destroy or damage property.
He was refused bail to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court.
