How fast can a bumblebee fly?

As part of his Queensland and New South Wales tour, violinist Attilla Sautov will be performing in Port Macquarie at the Uniting Church next month, with a beautiful and extremely versatile program.
The performance will feature, among others, a waltz from Tchaikovsky, The Gypsy Air from Monti and Mendelssohn’s Concerto in D Minor that he wrote at the age of 13.
At the end you will be able to witness Attilla challenging the Guinness World Record, playing “Flight of the Bumblebee” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov in less than 55 seconds!
Attilla started playing the violin at the age of four in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. His enormous talent and master classes with some of the world’s best violin players soon allowed him to win many international competitions.
In 2000 he moved to Germany where he worked as concert master in several leading orchestras. With them he led performances in some of the most prestigious venues of the world like the Sydney Opera House, the Berlin Concert Hall, the Ottawa National Art Centre and the Hong Kong Art Centre.
He has become known for his extroverted and flamboyant stage presence and his tremendous command of the violin.
One of his favorite composers is Paganini and playing these difficult parts always turns out to be a jaw-dropping experience, sending thrills and plucking pizzicatos down your spine.
Go and hear him play with the Mueller International Chamber Orchestra and be transported, listening to some of the most powerful, impassioned and colourful music in the solo violin repertoire:

  • Waltz from Serenade in C for Strings op.48 – P.Tchaikovsky
  • Concerto No. 1 in D minor for Violin and Orchestra – F. Mendelssohn
  • Moses Variation on One String on Rossini’s Theme – N. Paganini
  • Hungarian Dance No. 5 for violin and orchestra – J. Brahms
  • Czardas for violin and orchestra (Gypsy Air) – V. Monti
  • Flight of the Bumblebee – N. Rimsky-Korsakov
  • plus encores
