The Wauchope bonsai group’s next meeting is on Saturday, April 14, commencing at 10 am. This month the group will meet in the Rotary Youth Hall, Oxley Lane, Wauchope (next door to our normal hall).
This month’s meeting will feature a display of unusually styled trees to go with this month’s presentation on bonsai styles. The bulk of the meeting is member’s working on their own trees. There will also be a one hour beginner’s session to learn the basics of bonsai care and creation.
Visitors are welcome. The group is an excellent way to learn how to create your own bonsai, or to care for the one(s) you already have.
Some ideas of what to do in the coming months to make sure your bonsai is in its prime:
nWith the cooler weather, catch up on left over weeding and trimming.
nSome repotting can be done (evergreens, conifers other than pines, hardier deciduous trees like elms).
nContinue using high potassium fertilisers to strengthen trees for the winter, and stop feeding over the winter.
