At dawn on Easter Sunday about 120 people from various Christian denominations gathered at Town Beach, braving the rain, to celebrate the Resurrection.
The service, organised annually by the Port Macquarie Ministers’ Association, was led by Pastor Mark Van Der Veer (Honour Church), The Salvation Army Band provided the hymn music and Rev. Malcolm Hausler (Uniting Church) gave the address.
It was said to be an inspiring occasion, despite the weather, and appears to be growing in popularity from year to year.
