Residents are among a throng of bike riders who took part in the inspirational Brad Foster 1200km cycle challenge dubbed Road to Port. The epic journey kicked off on Friday in Victoria to raise money for KIDS – an acronym for Kids In Dangerous Situations and exists to try to redress the startling childhood injury statistics in Australia. The inaugural cycling challenge ended in Port Macquarie on Tuesday, May 3.
This year’s Road to Port course took in a scenic route covering more than 1200km from Ballarat/Melbourne to Port Macquarie.
Together with swimming legend Susie O’Neill, a former teacher and founder of KIDS Foundation,bike rider Brad Foster has initiated Road to Port, an event that in its first year raised in excess of $165,000 to support The KIDS Foundation Injury Prevention and Recovery Programs.
