The Independent newspaper has proved to be a valuable resource for a local women’s business group.
Hastings Business Womens Network (HWBN) Communications Coordinator Michelle Newman said, “Since the Independent ran our story about the relaunch of the Hastings Business Women’s Network earlier this year, the group has experienced unprecedented membership growth of 24 per cent.”
More than 35 local business women have joined the group so far this year.
The HBWN now has 186 members and has experienced growth since the start of the year when the network unveiled its fresh new look and expanded program of membership benefits.
HBWN President, Kelly Lamb, said there was increased interest in the HBWN following the relaunch of the network’s brand, the release of the rejigged events calendar, and the promotion of the new website and facebook page.
“There is a real buzz in the network at the moment and it was exciting to see so many new faces joining us recently at our monthly business breakfast at Waters Edge Boutique Hotel on Thursday April 26,” Mrs Lamb said.
“We’re always keen to connect with women who work in the Hastings who are looking for a group of like-minded ladies to provide support on a personal and professional level.”
New member Di Foreman from AudioClinic said she joined the network in April after hearing about the group’s future plans and realising the potential benefits for her business and herself.
HBWN President Kelly Lamb said, “Women in business who are interested in finding out more are welcome to join us as a guest at our next networking lunch on Thursday, May 31, at Rydges Hotel. Please visit our website www.hbwn.com.au to reserve your place.”
