The recent letter concerning the accumulation of rubbish at the SE corner of Horton and Clarence St cannot go unchallenged.
If the rubbish is such a concern to you then don’t waste your time writing 600 word letters to a newspaper complaining about it. Why stand there taking photos of it? CLEAN IT UP!!!
You say you have live here since early 2010. Well, I don’t know where you came from but here in Port we pride ourselves on being doers; not talkers and complainers. My dad taught me years ago that if I saw a wrong, don’t blame or point fingers or squawk about it, do something.
Carry a plastic bag, pick it up and put it in a bin. Anyone can whinge and complain. That’s easy. To do something positive, that’s constructive and meaningful, well, that takes effort and energy. My challenge to you is to show us you care by engaging in proactive action, rather than sitting at a keyboard banging out a letter that is dripping with negativity and blame.
How about you become “civic-minded” and contribute. Any community has a cross section of people, but there are two main types. People that help, and those that don’t.
