A very wet day saw a field of 71 starters contest Wauchope Men’s Veterans Golf Club’s, single stable ford event, at the Wauchope Country Club, last Tuesday, April 24. Sponsor of this event was Warren Plowright Toyota of Port Macquarie. Only two grades were used due to the number of starter’s.
The A grade winner, was Jim Thompson with 39 points , runner up was Peter Mansfield with 38 points on a count back from Rick Rozenblatt (Visitor). In B grade, the winner was Michael Luschwitz with 39 points, runner up was Antonio Zanon with 35 points on a count back from Charles Langham
Nearest to the pin winners were: 4th hole, A Grade, Dennis Morton, (3.41m), B Grade, Bob Spratford, (1.71m), C Grade, was a no result. 18th hole, A Grade, John Hill, (2.1m), B Grade, Fred Ertl, (4.27m). C Grade, Glenroy Smith (5.15m).
Balls were awarded to competitors with scores down to 34 points on count back in A Grade, 32 points on a count back in B Grade. Our sponsor for the day gave an extra trophy for the nearest to the pin on the 7th hole across all grades, the winner here was Warren Brentnall.
Beer draw winner’s were ; Chris Kemp, Rick Roszenblatt, Russell Spooner, Peter Mansfield, Fred Ertl, Bob Maggs, David Mills and John Hill. Next Tuesday event is a Single Stable ford sponsored by Hastings Funeral Services.
Again a very wet day saw a field of 23 starters for Thursday’s (April 19, 2012 ) 9-hole stable ford event. David Crees was the winner with a score of 20 points from runner up John Uncle with 19 points. Nearest to the pin winner was John Uncle (2.12m). Balls went down to 17 points, on a count back.
Ball winners were: On 18 points; Garry Slattery, Craig Jennings and Paul Stewart. On 17 points; Ian Bain, Ken Gallie, John Brent and Allan Lynch.
