A beautiful Monday morning saw Port Macquarie High School’s annual athletics carnival go ahead on Oxley Oval under sunny skies. The enthusiastic students found the day enjoyable and rewarding. Music was supplied by the Students Representative Council (SRC) which set a relaxed atmosphere for spectators and helped to spur on the athletes.
There were many encouraging perform-ances and some excellent results are anticipated at the Zone Carnival in the coming weeks. Various age groups proved to be very competitive and the day concluded with exciting 100 metre finals and an all-age group relay for the boys and girls.
The school’s athletic champions for this year are:
Girls: Alana Butlin (12 yrs), Eve Thomas, (13 yrs), Georgia Hunt (14 yrs), Molly Cassidy and Sarah Bisco (15 yrs), Jordin Sheaves (16 yrs), Courtney Cooper (17 yrs).
Boys: Lachlan Delis (12 yrs), Luke Bender (13 yrs), Jesse Campbell (14 yrs), Adam Granger (15 yrs), Dale Thomas (16 yrs), Andrew Hardy (17 yrs).
