The Tacking Point Tavern gets back to their local families with the launch of their Kids Disco Parties over the weekend; the first of which proved a huge success, with a large turnout from local families. The Kids Disco Parties pave the way for a series of events which will provide Port Macquarie families with fresh and exciting activities for children on weekends and the upcoming school holidays.
The Kids Disco parties will be hosted at the Tacking Point Tavern on the fourth Saturday of every month and include dancing and games for the kids, with disco lighting and decorations. There are two disco party sessions available each month; a lunch session at 11.30pm — 1.30pm which is priced at $10 per child and includes lunch. The afternoon session runs from 4.30pm — 6.30pm and is priced at $6 per child and includes a lolly bag on arrival.
The Kids Parties and Workshops will also run through the winter school holidays from July 2 to 13. The holiday activities open with a ‘Start of Holidays Party’ which will include games, dancing, balloon sculpting and face painting. Workshops include a plaster of Paris workshop where kids can paint plaques, magnets and plaster statues and take home their masterpieces. Other workshops include scrapbooking, canvas painting and a junior master chef style cooking class where kids can perfect their culinary skills. School Holiday activities range from $6 – $25 per child.
Tacking Point Tavern Venue Manager Phill Cardwell said, “The Kids Disco Parties and Workshops are a great way to provide local families with exciting new ways to entertain their kids on the weekend and during the school holidays. We will be working in conjunction with local children’s entertainer, Kelly from Port Party Characters, to provide fun-filled events for the smaller members of our community. The events also provide parents with the chance to relax, take a well-deserved time-out and enjoy the services on offer at the venue while their children are entertained.”
The Tacking Point Tavern, a traditionally locals pub, provides food and entertainment for Tacking Point and Lighthouse locals.
