The renovations to the Port Macquarie Art and Craft Centre were inspected by a local MP at a morning tea on Friday, June 29. Members wanted to thank Leslie Williams, MP for Port Macquarie, for the support she provided in the Centre’s successful application for a $20,000 State Government Community Building Partnership Grant.
Mrs Williams had previously visited the Centre when roof damage had caused flooding which had ruined carpets and resulted in a very unhealthy and unattractive environment.
The building that she inspected on Friday was a much more welcoming and usable space than the one she had seen on her earlier visit, a spokesperson said.
The newly renovated centre was re-opened on June 23 by Neil Porter, Hastings Council Administrator, and over 200 visitors enjoyed the demonstrations, picked up handmade bargains and experienced the Centre’s warm hospitality.
