New low

Politics in Australia has sunk to a new low with the NSW Nationals “get rid of Rob” campaign. What are the Nats so worried about? With Alan and Ray on their side and the ongoing litany of deliberate misinformation, half-truths and downright lies, you would think the next election result was in the bag.
But maybe, hopefully (please let it be so!) the public is beginning to see through their stories and realise the achievements of the Independents and this hung Parliament. Due to the foresight, character and negotiation skills of Rob Oakeshott and Tony Windsor, we have unheard of investment in education, infrastructure, communications, health, renewable energy, the environment and more. Regional Australia has seen long needed, record shattering billions of investment dollars. The Lyne electorate has never seen so much money!
In a comical combination of Chicken Little and Hanrahan, the coalition would have you believe the sky is falling and we’ll all be rooned. The truth is, however, that we have an economy that is the envy of the world – low inflation, low interest rates, low unemployment, a strong dollar and untold billions in investment in infrastructure and resources to come. What GFC?! We are in the happy situation where we can afford to spend all this money to the benefit of our people and society.
Already – and for generations to come – Australia will reap the benefits of this unheard of investment – not to mention tax reform, changes to Parliamentary procedures, the establishment of the Department of Regional Australia, the Youth Allowance package and much more. And all this is, in large part, is due to the efforts of our local Member!
Australia – and the people of Lyne – should be eternally grateful for the outstanding efforts of Rob Oakeshott.
Onya Rob, more strength to your arm, big fella!
